I dream to be remembered,
Recalled for the beauty of my soul bonded into the pages.
Infused into the worded ink that is my lifeblood.
I aspire for my emotions wrapped between the covers to be unravelled by curious minds.
To share with them the world I had conceived, beckoning adventure and igniting romance.
I strive for the writer's victory of making a story resonate in people's hearts.
Hoping that my words will echo through the world, changing people, comforting lives.
One day I hope, when I'm dead and gone,
a piece of me will be sitting on the shelves of my beloved kindred spirits,
waiting to be opened again, like a reunion between old friends,
where we shall reminisce of those vibrant moments where we both smiled and cried.
Tattered or new, patiently waiting to be discovered or found once again.
And forever shall I remain in this world, remembered for what I have done,
through the actions of the characters that shall shine on without me.
Immortalized.
So after detaching myself for a few weeks from poetry I can finally use free verse again. Whoop! Although I admit this may not be my best, I just wanted to get my healthy dose of writing out of my system. Good practice and all that. And as we all know, I love to share in the hopes someone can point out if it can be any better. Granted, it's shorter than my usual thing, but hey, it's a good change.

"I strive for the writer's victory of making a story resonate in people's hearts.

Tt's really nice. it's an inspiring piece of work that speaks of the dreams of all people. Everyone wants to leave their mark on the world and not be forgotten. This is a good little poem that illiterates that.

WOW! And this is the herald of every writer who aspires and dreams to be remembered for all time. You captured the emotion of a writer's soul very well (of course you would...you are a writer!) We live on in the pages that we write, in the lives that we inspire and impact, in the characters we infuse with ourselves, our identities. Writing is a skill, a craft; many practice it...but only a few will ever be immortalized...and that is the desire, the goal, the ambition of every serious writer, isn't it? And you captured that desire and that ambition HERE in this synopsis.

Thank u so much! Yeah well, I guess it takes one to write about one.
I hope to be an immortal one day. A breakout someday soon. But until then I'm happy to enjoy the journey. And I would love to initially reach out to people who are as serious as me. It was the reason I had turned my back on Wattpad. DA's ppl were into the essence of the art, Wattpad's reader were looking for who had the mushiest or dirtiest stories. And what horrified me was that the most read weren't even that well written. Everybody just kept asking for updates, good god. Ppl there look to get the most views, not spreading a good story. Which is why I'm so happy to hav the good ppl of LP.

Amen to that...I know what you mean!I find it truly amazing that here on DA (and here at LP), everyone here is drawn together under the banner of "Art" in its many forms...but we are still one big family...and for the most part, none of us have met. Here at LP, I find myself at home because I am surrounded by people who love the same thing I love: writing. I don't know anyone personally, but I feel like I do, and we all support and help each other! It just blows me away

Imagine what happens when we expand. We could be a site all on our own. I'd probably miss the smallness of it all, but as long as ppl who r serious support one another towards the next inspirational thing rather than just trying to be the most viewed, I'm cool with it.

To write and to be remembered. Our mortal frame may wither and die, but least our voice will still be heard long after we have passed on. This beautifully sums up the sentiments of why I write, even on the days I don't feel like it. No matter how great or how awful the writing maybe, at least the past survives to leave an ever-lasting legacy. This is a remarkable poem as it started up the engine of chaotic thought on why I write and who exactly am I writing for? So on that note very well done. :)

Thank you so much. I always ask myself why I write simply to remind myself I'm not doing it for fame. I do it to prove to myself I'm capable of creating something worth remembering with affection, if that makes any sense.

I do believe all artists can relate to this sweet little piece of literature :) Every painter, ever poet, every writer, every sketch artist, even those who have digitalized their dreams somehow, all strive to touch the hearts of those who see their art. I would argue that a true artist sees and hears the world with his/her heart, and equally aims for the hearts of others who appreciate art. As one of my theater instructors said to me "Touch the heart of just one person in the room, and you can call yourself a true actor, even though you may be concidered an amateur". It is something I have taken to heart in my art as well :D

This was a very beautiful piece, dreams are something that replays as found or horrible memories. We are consecutively covered in our consciousness and the descriptive structures you used were very interesting. You have a way of expressing your intimate thoughts of soul and promise. When becoming one in immortalized way, we become almost thoughtless on reality.

Well done!

Wow I feel like this every time I write. It would be nice to be remembered in this sort of way- not glorified in a "i wrote twilight and made a billion dollars off of it" way but for just one person to see what I see through my stories. To get into that word i made and make it real somehow.

Great stuff.

I feel this basically speaks to and for most writers in the world who aren't published as you basically just described one of my greatest dreams. I actually had a really deep conversation with my best friend about my desire for this just a few months ago. The only thing I think you might could work on is figuring when you want to pause and make a new line especially with the eighth line, but other than that it's a really good poem.

Duly noted. Thank you for the advice. Yet I think even published writer's still work towards the dream. One cannot guarantee their work will end up being a classic, or they'll be remembered in years to come. But it's definitely every amateur's dream.

A very whimsical poem. The last line just fit in place, didn't it? Although the lines are a bit simply broken and the eighth line is far too long, it flowed really well.

this piece walks the edge of being TOO lofty in aspiration and tone...but it walks the edge without quite going over. very well paced and ordered. i remember thinking that's why i write...now i realize it is because i have to.

You know when we become active again, you should join us in Literary Publications. We had a hiatus cuz our leader had some stuff goin on with her life but it's an awesome group. She gathered a small group of us cuz she was tired that literature pieces which really deserved acknowledgement didn't have comments or feedback and wanted to revolutionize the community. We'd love to have you.
